| Background: | Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the legal, political, economic, health, and professional status of women. The Zonta Club came to Charlottetown through a friendship between Mona G. Wilson, Director of Public Health Nursing for PEI, and Helen Cleveland of Toronto, a past-president of Zonta International. The Zonta Club of Charlottetown has contributed to a variety of local service initiatives over the years including the establishing of student awards at UPEI.
