Description: | Granted to an undergraduate student in their third or fourth year of study in any faculty who intends to pursue a career in the aerospace, defence, security industry and/or advanced manufacturing. Preference will be given to a student who was not in post-secondary school for at least five years before they entered UPEI. Should there be two equally qualifying candidates, the student in the greatest financial need will be selected. |
Background: | The Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA) is a collaborative SME-focused organization representing the interests of the aerospace, defence, and security industries in Atlantic Canada. ACADA is comprised of approximately 170+ industry members and organizations across Atlantic Canada. ACADA works collaboratively with industry members, provincial and federal government agencies, and other key stakeholders to facilitate strategic industry development on behalf of the region while promoting the Atlantic Canada brand locally, nationally, and internationally. In the fall of 2016 Tronosjet Manufacturing opened its new machine shop in Prince Edward Island. Bringing over 30 years of experience in the Aerospace and related manufacturing environment and utilizing the latest in Solidworks CAD software coupled with NextGen CAM software, Tronosjet is able to offer a number of solutions for all kinds of machining and manufacturing needs. In January 2022, Tronosjet Manufacturing in partnership with ACADA established this award at UPEI. |
