An Afternoon of Service with the Mount – Pumpkin Carving!
Gain volunteer experience in our community! In partnership with the UPEI Experiential Education Department, the Mount Continuing Care Community will host a group of student volunteers to help with a fun activity: pumpkin carving with the residents. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community, meet other students, and gain some new skills.
The Mount is a resident care facility where residents live and are supported in their daily lives. Many of the residents are seniors. As part of living at the Mount, residents can participate in a variety of fun events and activities, such as this one, where they will carve pumpkins. By participating in this Afternoon of Service, you will get to help with the event and interact with residents. You will brighten their day while gaining some experience volunteering with a local organization.
The Mount is located very close to UPEI at 141 Mount Edward Road, and a trail connects the campus and the Mount. For this event, we will meet on campus and walk as a group to the Mount.
All participants are asked to meet at the Career Studio, Dalton Hall Room 209, at 2:00 p.m. Please be on time as we will be walking over to the Mount and won't be waiting for anyone if they're late.
Notice: The Mount requires all visitors to wear masks while indoors. If you do not have a mask, the staff will provide one for you.
If you have any questions, please contact Community and Industry Outreach Coordinator Diego Figueroa Medina at diegofm@upei.ca.
Register by Monday, October 30, at noon. Registration is required on our Eventbrite page.
