“What Can You Do with an Arts Degree?”, featuring comedian and storyteller Justin Shaw
The UPEI Alumni Office is hosting this event as part of 2024 Homecoming events.
Justin Shaw (BA'14) is a proud alumnus of the University of Prince Edward Island. Since graduating in 2014, he has gained professional experience in the performing arts, the non-profit sector, and the business world. He credits much of his eclectic portfolio to the skills acquired and honed during his time as an undergraduate at UPEI. Join this entertaining presentation as he aims to provide a compelling answer to the oft-grating question: What can you do with an arts degree?
The presentation will include a conversation and Q&A session facilitated by Dr. Gregory Doran, co-ordinator of Theatre Studies, and will conclude with refreshments.
BIO: Justin Shaw is a comedian and storyteller originally from Cardigan, Prince Edward Island (and if you're also from Cardigan, his dad probably knows your dad.) Fusing comedy and storytelling, he has toured his solo shows across Canada, including The 70 Mile Yard Sale at the 2024 Charlottetown Festival. He has appeared on Just For Laughs Toronto and Mike Birbiglia's Working It Out comedy show, has opened for Fortune Feimster, and tours regularly with Yuk Yuks across Canada. He is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada (Acting 2017) and a proud alumnus of Vagabond Productions from the University of Prince Edward Island.
