Research and Exhibit Development Assistant, Cape Bear Lighthouse
$16.75 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)
Cape Bear Lighthouse is accepting applications for a student to fill the Research and Exhibit Development Assistant position for the upcoming summer season.
The position is for 12 weeks (proposed dates of June 9th to August 30th) and is 35 hours per week with a mix of on-site and remote work required. The candidate should be knowledgeable and passionate about the local history of PEI. The student will have the ability to excel in both individual tasks and collaborative environments, be able to problem solve and have the capacity to generate innovative ideas, be familiar with computer/digital-related work such as word processing and digital photography, and be able to demonstrate research skills in both documented and oral history. Studying arts, in particular history, would be an asset.
The student will be required to do research, catalogue our artifacts, assist with expanding and refurbishing some interior exhibits as well as the designing of new exterior educational panels. Some hours will be spent preparing and presenting tours to visitors and working with our summer staff.
