The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Nursing invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining a vibrant academic community with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and research, and strong linkages to community researchers and practitioners. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are founded on a philosophy of primary health care. The position responsibilities include teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, developing a strong program of research, and serving on committees internal and external to the Faculty of Nursing. In the event that candidates for the tenure track position are not found, consideration will be given to term appointments.

The positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

The successful candidates will have a completed doctoral degree or significant progress towards a doctoral degree, a minimum of one degree in nursing, demonstrated excellence in teaching, strong evidence of research and scholarly work, and eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island. Experience with or interest in the health of Indigenous populations is welcome.

Applicants must submit a cover letter citing the competition number listed above, a curriculum vitae. In addition, interested parties will arrange to have forwarded three letters of reference which speak specifically to their match with this position by the competition closing date.

 Two additional documents must also be submitted for application to be considered complete:

  • A teaching statement outlining the candidate’s teaching experience and philosophy of teaching.
  • A research statement outlining a clear program of research and well-defined scholarly agenda.
