The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Nursing invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining a vibrant academic community with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and research, and strong linkages to community researchers and practitioners. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are founded on a philosophy of primary health care. The position responsibilities could include teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing, a completed doctoral degree or significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree, demonstrated excellence in teaching, strong evidence of research and scholarly work, and eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island.  Expertise in psychiatric/mental health nursing is required. Experience with or interest in the health of Indigenous populations is welcome. In the event a successful candidate for tenure track is not found, consideration for a term appointment with a completed Master of Nursing degree will be considered.

Two additional documents must also be submitted for application to be considered complete:

1. A teaching statement outlining the candidate’s teaching experience and philosophy of teaching.
2. A research statement outlining a clear program of research and well-defined scholarly agenda.
