Student Assistant - Department of Biology - Faculty of Science
$17.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September 8, 2026 – April 29, 2027
The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from UPEI students who are interested in assisting in Departmental activities, including assisting in management of social media accounts, producing content highlighting accomplishments and opportunities in Biology, and assisting with routine office tasks, in the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include:
- Helping to manage departmental social media accounts
- Assisting in development of social media content highlighting opportunities and accomplishments in the Biology department
- Assisting with routine office tasks (e.g., printing, organizing materials, data entry, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must:
- Have good communication skills.
- Be familiar with basic content creation for multiple social media platforms.
- Be available during normal business hours for 5-10 hours per week.
- Be familiar with the Department of Biology and the field of biology generally.

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
