ADS Level 6 - Curriculum Improvement and Accreditation Coordinator - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering

Acknowledging that UPEI is located on the unceded land of the Mi’kmaq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a Curriculum Improvement and Accreditation Coordinator.
As part of a team and reporting to the Dean, the Curriculum Improvement and Accreditation Coordinator supports the undergraduate program’s outcomes-based curriculum delivery model at both its Charlottetown and Cairo campuses. The Coordinator is responsible for a range of assessment and accreditation-related activities that support the ongoing improvement of the undergraduate program’s overall performance and learning outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and coordination for the undergraduate program’s outcomes-based assessment approach and ongoing evidence-based curriculum improvement efforts for both its Charlottetown and Cairo campuses
- Provide support and coordination for the undergraduate program’s external professional accreditation review processes for both its Charlottetown and Cairo campuses
- Provide advice and support to the Curriculum Committee in regard to its related mandate and operations
- With oversight from the Curriculum Committee and the Dean, manage and coordinate the undergraduate program’s continual improvement processes including: the collection and management of relevant course information; the collection, management and analysis of course, program and other assessment data; and the preparation of outcomes-based assessment reports
- Develop and maintain internal processes and procedures to support evidence-based decisions for continual program improvement
- Work with faculty to document course outcomes and assessment tools, to support relevant reporting and analytics, and to develop best practices for their engagement in the curriculum improvement and accreditation processes
- Work with the program’s Industry Partnership Group and others to develop and maintain best practices for collecting and incorporating feedback from external partners, current and past students, and other stakeholders to support the continual program improvement and accreditation review processes
- In consultation with the Curriculum Committee, establish and maintain appropriate benchmarks and tools to measure program performance and to ensure compliance with continual improvement and accreditation standards
- Map and analyze current curriculum against relevant criteria, such as learning outcomes, competencies, and graduate attributes, to ensure that essential core concepts/content/skills are included in the program
- Develop and prepare statistical reports on the assessment of program learning outcomes to identify concerns and to propose recommendations for improvement
- Monitor tasks and timelines related to all continual improvement and accreditation activities
- Maintain a repository of assessment, improvement and accreditation-related documents and evidence to support continual improvement and accreditation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an appropriate post-secondary program in a relevant area with at least three (3) years related work experience and/or a combination of education and related work experience. A university degree in a relevant area would be considered an asset
- Experience with quality control, accreditation, and/or outcomes-based assessment processes
- Experience with data management, document resource management and tracking systems
- Strong skills in data collection/analysis/reporting methodologies in an academic or business environment
- Knowledge of curriculum development and review, learning outcomes and assessment tools would be considered an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated excellent communication (both oral and written), professional, interpersonal and collaborative skills
- An ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- A high degree of judgment and professionalism with a strong understanding of confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, especially in Excel or a similar application
- Strong understanding of and skills in document management and control
