Assistant Professor - Nine (9) Month Term Position - Department of Economics - Faculty of Arts

The Department of Economics at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) acknowledges that UPEI is located on the unceded land of the Mi’kmaq Nation of the Wabanaki Confederacy in the traditional district of Epekwitk.
We welcome applications for a 9-month term position in Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Money and Financial Institutions, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Managerial Economics.
This appointment is expected to begin on August 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval. Please arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted directly through the job application portal after you submit your application. This is an in-person, on location position.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed, or be near completion of, a doctoral degree in Economics (any field) or in a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, evidence of effective undergraduate instruction, the ability to contribute to the delivery of core and upper-level undergraduate courses, and a collegial and professional approach. While this is primarily a teaching-focused replacement position, evidence of scholarly activity is welcomed.
