Lets Talk Science (LTS) Student Coordinator - Faculty of Science
$2,600 for the 2024-2025 full term (+ 4% vacation pay)
September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025
The Faculty of Science is seeking to hire a student to take over the role of Let’s Talk Science Coordinator(s) during the period September 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The coordinator will recruit and train new site volunteers, support volunteers by helping plan activities, organize supplies and logistical arrangements, trips to rural communities, track finances and maintain records of site budget, compile and write stewardship reports to funders, maintain communication with the national Let’s talk Science Office and attend at least one fully funded LTS conference.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a UPEI student with good communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and carry on LTS initiatives
- A passion for science, science outreach and education
- Strong leadership skills, planning and organizational skills
- A high level of computer experience with Internet applications and Microsoft Office
- Experience working on LTS as a volunteer is an asset
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
