Student Assistant - Marketing and Engagement - UPEI Health and Wellness Centre
$18.70 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre is committed to providing inclusive, high quality, and student centred care to the campus community. To support this mission, we are seeking a motivated and creative student to join our team as a Student Assistant - Marketing & Engagement. In this role, the successful candidate will support the promotion, visibility, and evaluation of Health and Wellness Centre services and initiatives. The position focuses on engaging students through strategic communications, increasing awareness of available supports, and gathering feedback to inform and enhance the overall student experience
Reporting to the Manager, the Student Assistant - Marketing & Engagement will contribute to the overall well-being of the UPEI community by:
- Increasing student awareness and utilization of Health and Wellness Centre services
- Supporting student engagement through targeted communication and outreach strategies
- Assisting with the collection and use of student feedback to inform service improvement efforts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Student Assistant - Marketing & Engagement will support the Health and Wellness Centre through the following activities:
Marketing & Communications
- Create, schedule, and manage content for digital platforms (including social media) to promote Health and Wellness Centre services, programs, and events
- Ensure messaging is clear, engaging, accessible, and consistent across platforms
- Align communications with the Centre’s goals, priorities, and UPEI brand guidelines
Student Engagement & Outreach
- Support initiatives aimed at increasing student awareness and participation
- Assist with the development and implementation of targeted outreach strategies for diverse student groups
- Select appropriate communication channels and tailor messaging to encourage engagement and service utilization
Recruitment & Volunteer Engagement
- Support the promotion of student involvement opportunities, including focus groups, the Patient Advisory Committee, and volunteer roles
- Develop and share outreach materials to promote participation opportunities
- Assist with strategies to increase student awareness, interest, and sign-ups
Patient Feedback & Evaluation
- Assist with the development and implementation of patient satisfaction and feedback initiatives (e.g. surveys, feedback forms)
- Support the organization and summarization of feedback data
- Help identify key themes and insights to inform improvements to programs, services, and student experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Applied Communication, Leadership, and Culture or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in marketing, communications, or student engagement
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate content
- Creative and detail-oriented, with an eye for design and messaging
- Comfortable using social media platforms and digital communication tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with Canva or other design platforms is considered an asset
