Sessional Instructor - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering - Fall 2026

The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has openings for sessional instructors for the Fall 2026 semester for the following course.
This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
ENGN-2310 Strength of Materials
This course is an introduction to the study of stress, strain, and deformation of a solid body subjected to static forces. Topics include elastic and plastic stress, strain, Mohr's circle, torsion, behaviour of beams and columns. Computer applications and hands-on laboratory experiments are used.
Three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week
Qualifications:
Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, would be considered a strong asset. Professional engineering experience is expected and will be an important consideration in the selection process. Being registered as a Professional Engineer in Prince Edward Island is considered an asset.
Registration as a P. Eng or EIT with Engineers PEI is considered an asset.
Note: members of the sessional roster and full-time and term contract faculty members of the FSDE will be given priority.
