Student Research Assistant - Department of Psychology
$20.75 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
ASAP – August 31, 2024
Dr Stacey MacKinnon is seeking applications for one (1) full-time research assistant to help her finish writing a student inquiry handbook, run inquiry focus groups and conduct interviews relating to Reading with Purpose, IBL, and generative AI in the classroom, preparing data for a systematic literature review, help organize inquiry-based learning opportunities for visiting high school students & professors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researching and co-writing student handbook of inquiry skills
- Conducting literature searches
- Updating COVIDENCE and Zotera databases
- Co-writing ethics applications
- Running focus groups/interviews, transcribing & assisting in analyzing qualitative/quantitative data
- Making presentations on projects on and off campus
- Mentor junior volunteers
- Online design layout & sourcing visuals
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants MUST be:
- At least a fourth year undergraduate student at UPEI
- Applying to the Psychology honours program for September 2024
- Highly successful coursework in qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Highly organized
- Excellent critical/creative thinking and writing skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and in groups
- Experience supervising and designing activities for 16-25 year olds
- Previous volunteer research experience an asset
