Sessional Instructor - Department of Applied Human Sciences - Faculty of Science (Winter 2023)
The Department of Applied Human Sciences at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor for the Winter 2023 academic semester, subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
KINE 4090 – Special Topics – Active Living Practicum
This course will provide students with in-depth experience with one-on-one personal training and client management. Students will work with community volunteers to develop and oversee progressive, personalized training programs with a focus on improving health and performance. This course is assessed as PASS/FAIL.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a field related to the respective course content and have experience supervising personal training for adults with and without chronic conditions. Documented experience teaching these courses, advanced fitness certifications (e.g. CSCS, CSEP CPT or CSEP CEP) and Professional Membership in Kinesiology PEI are definite assets.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
