Student Assistant - Student Nurse - Provincial Adult ADHD Program - UPEI Health and Wellness Centre *Amended Closing Date*
$20.75 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

The Provincial ADHD Program and the UPEI Health & Wellness Centre are looking for a motivated, second- or third-year nursing student to work at the Provincial ADHD Program and UPEI Health & Wellness Centre. The student will assist with various projects, such as group coaching sessions, development of education posters and materials, update presentations etc. The student needs to be a self-starter, have excellent writing skills and strong interpersonal skills. The student may perform other duties such as greeting patients and taking them to the waiting room, picking up the mail, cleaning exam rooms, and other duties as required.

Engagement: Understanding what the campus communication needs are regarding health issues, prevention of disease, supporting co-workers
Responsibility: Fulfill job responsibilities, enforcing policies, risk management, professionalism, honesty, ethical decision-making, trustworthiness.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop communication materials for the campus community/ADHD Population
- Assist with tasks in the day-to-day operation of the Provincial ADHD Program/health centre
- Follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or emergency situation
- Attend staff meetings, orientation and training
- Report to and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the UPEI Health & Wellness Centre.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be enrolled in UPEI Nursing program and have completed second year at a minimum
- Good knowledge of doing literature searches of health literature
- A professional demeanor – reliable, well prepared, respectful and relates well to people
- Strong customer service skills and/or experience and a positive attitude in serving students and other members
- Positive attitude, energetic, courteous, good telephone etiquette, and attention to detail
- Able to work well within a teamwork environment
- Must be willing to workdays, Monday to Friday, from 0800-1600 hours
- All student staff must have current CPR and AED training and WHMIS or agree to obtain this certification at their own expense
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
