Technology Tip Tuesday

Posting Date(s)

Happy Technology Tip Tuesday everyone!

Today we are focusing on malware. Malware is short for malicious software that threatens to corrupt, destroy, and steal our information. It can enter our digital systems with unauthorized access, usually because of software developed by cybercriminals.

So, if we want to protect our data, files, and devices, we must be equipped with the right information.

If you are an employee (i.e., staff or faculty member), learn how to defend yourself and your devices from malware by completing this week’s cybersecurity training on the Terranova Cybersecurity Awareness Training Portal and get smarter as you work online. Log in securely to Terranova with our UPEI SSO!

To raise awareness, promote cybersecurity by talking about it with your colleagues and friends on campus! We also encourage you to explore the “Become CyberSafe” section of the ITSS website at https://go.upei.ca/ithelp.

Chase the boos away this season by tuning into Technology Tip Tuesday every week during October--Cybersecurity Awareness Month--for cybersecurity tips and tricks.

And remember, be cybersafe!
