It is with mixed emotions that UPEI Marketing and Communications announces that Anna MacDonald will be retiring from her position as Communications Officer, effective October 9. Anna’s UPEI story began as a student more than four decades ago and, despite a few adventures beyond campus, she has always found her way back to UPEI. We have been incredibly fortunate that she did.

Throughout her career, Anna has been a gifted writer and editor, a thoughtful communications professional, a generous mentor, and a trusted colleague to so many across the University. Whether profiling the fascinating work of our faculty, staff, and students; helping a co-worker strengthen a piece of writing through her eagle-eye editing; or fielding requests from the media, Anna has brought professionalism, a good sense of (dry) humour, and an unmatched attention to detail. Most of all, Anna has been a dedicated Panther for Life.

Please drop by The Fox & Crow in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre on Friday, October 9, 2026, between 12:30–1:30 pm for some celebratory cake and to extend best wishes to Anna as she begins the next chapter and a well-deserved retirement.

Hope you can join us as we thank and congratulate Anna!
