Special UPEI Board of Governors meeting set to approve UPEI Action Plan

The following message was also emailed to students, staff, and faculty on March 22, 2024.

Dear Members of the UPEI Community,

Since the release of the University of Prince Edward Island Review (UPEI Review) in June 2023, UPEI has been actively engaged in listening, learning, and developing an action plan to respond to all the recommendations outlined within the UPEI Review.

I am pleased to advise that, after a multi-pronged consultation process and an endorsement by the UPEI Senate, the “UPEI Action Plan: Building Trust, Safety, and Inclusion on our Campus” will be presented to the UPEI Board of Governors for approval at a special meeting (via Zoom) on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12:00 pm.

Given the plan’s focus on accountability and the need for change, as well as to acknowledge the participation of so many members of the campus and broader Island community in its development, I would like to invite you to this special meeting to mark the occasion. For logistical purposes, please email board@upei.ca by end-of-day March 26 to obtain the Zoom meeting coordinates.

Again, I thank everyone for working together to make UPEI the community we all know it can be—one that supports a culture of inclusion, trust, and safety within our campus.
