Applications now open for the Atlantic Veterinary College’s Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp (AVC Vet Camp).
These immersive, week-long camps are a unique summer experience for junior and senior high school students to get a taste of what it’s like to be a veterinarian. Each camp offers hands-on activities, engaging labs, insightful lectures, field trips, and lively discussions, all led by AVC’s faculty, staff, students, and veterinary experts.
Every year, the camp schedule offers something new, but campers can count on some classic favourites such as performing examinations on small and large animals, exploring anatomy, radiology, and pathology, and even trying their hand at dissections. They’ll learn pet first aid, go on fun field trips, and dive into many other exciting activities.
The AVC Vet Camps are a global draw, welcoming students from across the world. Spaces are limited to about 50 participants per camp, with selections made through a random lottery system.
Students entering grades 7–9 in the fall of 2025 can apply for the following junior camps:
- July 7–11, 2025
- July 14–18, 2025
Students entering grades 10–12 in the fall of 2025 can apply for the following senior camps:
