- Increased accessibility: The addition of lights will extend the facility’s schedule and its ability to host diverse community events, improving accessibility and participation.
- Enhanced spectator experience: Games and events can take place in the evening, fostering a vibrant atmosphere and better attendance.
- Support for local athletes: Improved facilities will promote local sport development initiatives, benefiting athletes of all ages.
“This project represents a significant investment in the future of sport on Prince Edward Island, reinforcing UPEI’s commitment to fostering community engagement and athletic excellence,” said Jane Vessey, Director, UPEI Athletics and Recreation. “Many thanks to the 2023 Canada Games Legacy Fund, along with our partners, for their support in making this project a reality.”
