Tim Walker appointed as new Vice-President, Administration and Finance

The following message from President Rodgers was also emailed to students, staff, and faculty on February 10, 2025.

Dear UPEI Community,  

I am pleased to announce the Board of Governors approved the appointment of Tim Walker as the University of Prince Edward Island’s new Vice-President, Administration and Finance (VPAF) at its meeting on February 6, 2025. He will join the University on April 14, 2025.

Tim Walker brings significant knowledge and experience in financial leadership, operational excellence, and institutional management.  Since 2019, Tim has served as the Vice-President of Finance and Administration at New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), overseeing key areas including enterprise risk management, facilities and ancillary services, financial operations, information technology and continuous improvement initiatives. His expertise in policy development and strategic financial planning will be invaluable as UPEI continues to grow and enhance operations.

I congratulate Tim on his new role.  

I also want to take this opportunity to thank Tara Judson for her many valued contributions as interim VPAF. Tara will be returning to her role as Comptroller after a brief administrative leave.  

As chair of the selection committee, I also extend my thanks to members Dr. Sharon Myers, Austin Clement, Blair Vessey, Karen Creighan, George Jiang, Amy MacFarlane, Ashley McKenna, and Kelly Drummond for their time commitment, dedicated and thorough work.
