Brooke Henderson and Jakob Robillard named UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for October 6–12 are Brooke Henderson (women’s hockey) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).
Henderson is a third-year science student from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She had a breakout game on October 11, scoring a pair of goals in UPEI’s 5-0 win over the Mount Allison University Mounties.
“Brooke had a big impact on our success this weekend,” said Sean Fisher, UPEI Women’s Hockey head coach. “She used her size and strength effectively at both ends of the ice, and her smart checking and angling created offensive chances that she made the most of.”
Robillard is a third-year business student from Rockland, Ontario. He was a steady force between the pipes this week, turning aside 39 shots in the team’s 6-4 loss against Saint Mary’s University on October 10 and following it up with a 31-save effort in the 3-1 loss to Acadia University on October 11. Despite the results, he gave UPEI a chance to win each night and stood out as the Panthers’ most consistent performer.
“Robi had a good weekend and gave us a chance to win both games. This is the type of goaltending we need from our group each time we play,” said Forbes MacPherson, UPEI Men’s Hockey head coach.
