Collective Bargaining Update – October 2

The following provides an update on collective bargaining and related labour relations activities at UPEI.

PSAC

Earlier this week, UPEI reached a tentative agreement with the Public Service Alliance of Canada, representing Post-Doctoral Research Associates. This represents the first collective agreement between the University and its Post-Doctoral Research Associates, who certified with PSAC in August of this year. We are grateful to both bargaining teams for their work to reach a timely agreement, and their professionalism and respect throughout the process. 

Negotiations with PSAC 86000, representing Graduate Research Assistants, Graduate Lab Instructors, and Graduate Tutorial Assistants, are scheduled for late October and early November.

UPEI Faculty Association

Conciliation is scheduled to continue with the Faculty Association in October. UPEI continues to participate fully and cooperatively in the process and remains committed to constructive, good faith bargaining with the UPEI Faculty Association.
