The 2011 UPEI Sports Legacy Celebration will take place on Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 pm at McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Centre, to recognize Academic All-Canadians, named financial award winners, and the UPEI Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Curtis Robinson. Tickets are available for purchase by the general public for $75 each.

On Friday, October 7, 2011 representatives from the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) will be on campus to meet with researchers interested in hearing about the work of CIMVHR and potential collaborative research opportunities. This information will be used to populate the database with interested researchers so you can find each other, and so that government partners know who you are.

The PEI Coalition for Women in Government, in conjunction with the UPEI Political Studies Society and Interministerial Women's Secretariat is hosting a FREE screening of Miss-Representation to mark Women's History Month. Miss-Representation is a documentary about the difficulties for women to obtain leadership positions and for girls to reach their full potential. Everyone is encouraged to come to the screening. "As the most persuasive and pervasive force of communication in our culture, media is educating yet another generation that a woman’s primary value lay in her youth, beauty and sexuality—and not in her capacity as a leader." There will be FREE popcorn and beverages provided. Doors open at 6:40 pm.
