External Opportunities Abroad
Killam Fellowships Program
The Killam Fellowships Program for awards to be taken up in the academic year 2026-2027 is now open!
The program provides an opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students from universities in Canada and the United States to spend either a semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in the other country.
You can participate in the program in one of two ways:
Direct Exchange Student (Direct exchange competition)
You must be a student at one of our partner universities. Check to see if your school is one of our partners! Students register at their home university, pay their home university fees, and attend the host university as an exchange visitor.
Deadline to apply: Check your university’s internal deadline!
Self-placed Visiting Student (Open competition)
If you are a student at a university that is not a Killam partner, you can apply for and register at the host university and pay the host tuition fees.
