UPEI Action Plan Check-In
As we continue on our journey to build a culture of safety, trust, and inclusion, Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice-Chancellor, invites you to attend the UPEI Action Plan Check-In on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Performing Arts Centre theatre (PAC121S) from 1:30–2:30 pm.
This in-person meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the progress we are making with regard to the UPEI Action Plan and implementation plans as well as provide your feedback, as we make the changes needed to move forward, live our values, and achieve our mission.
Yarns & Yarns!
Join the Institute of Island Studies in person or online on December 3, 1-2 pm, for “Yarns and Yarns,” an hour of knitting and storytelling on northern islands, when we will discuss and demonstrate island knitting traditions that focus on mittens.
Ocean Startup Activator - PEI Edition
Dive into the Blue Economy at the Ocean Startup Activator-PEI Edition, an exciting in-person event designed for students, researchers, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs. Join us on November 29 at the Don and Marion McDougall Hall for a day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and competition focused on tackling the challenges facing our oceans.
MacLauchlan Panther Pitch Launch Event
The MacLauchlan Panther Pitch is returning this winter semester! To celebrate the return of this storied competition, the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship is kicking off the program with an official launch event on Thursday, November 28, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall.

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?
My hometown is Cali, Colombia. Since I was a teenager, I always knew that I wanted to study abroad. I did a lot of research and found that UPEI had everything I needed, and my parents were able to help me financially.
Global Village Celebration 2024
The 2024 Global Village celebration will take place in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on November 30 at 3:30 pm.
Global Village is a celebration of the multiculturalism and diversity that exists on campus, so students from all over the world showcase their culture and traditions, as well as help encourage cultural sensitivity and a global perspective.
Aligning assessments with AI literacies
As we navigate changes in the age of generative AI, aligning our assessment strategies with the distinctly human skills and AI literacies we aim to foster is important. In this workshop, instructors will work collaboratively in small groups to revise and develop assessments that reflect their course learning outcomes.
Rethink Your Slides: A Working Session
This 45-minute session is created in collaboration between the TLC, EDIHR, and Accessibility Services. Make an impact on student learning by rethinking your slides. We will touch on simple suggestions that can build a connection with your students and enhance learning. If you haven’t reviewed your slides recently or if you feel like you need some support in this process, this is a great space to ask questions and be among others who are feeling the same way.
