Professional Communications Online Workshop

Join Experiential Education staff for a 30-minute online workshop where we will review best practices for professional communications, with a focus on creating a good first impression while expanding your network.

This workshop is being offered in preparation for the McDougall Faculty of Business's 2024 Career Day on Tuesday, October 29, but it is open to any UPEI students who would like to improve their communication skills for professional networking.

UPEI nursing professor leads study on accessibility of gender-affirming health care on PEI/Epekwitk

Dr. Margie Burns, an assistant professor in the UPEI Faculty of Nursing, is leading a research study about the experiences of Two-Spirit, transgender, gender-diverse, and non-binary (2STGD+) people seeking and accessing gender-affirming health care on PEI/Epekwitk.

Burns has received a Partnership Engage Grant of $24,959 from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for the study.

CCCE Speaker Series: PEI Business Navigator

Afternoon of Service at the Mount: Halloween Treat Bags

Help The Mount prepare for Halloween by crafting and packing candy for trick-or-treat bags.

The Mount Continuing Care Community is a wonderful place that provides quality care and support for seniors. They are all about creating a warm and friendly environment for their residents and guests.

The Mount is located very close to UPEI at 141 Mount Edward Road. There is a trail that connects the UPEI campus and the Mount. For this event, we will meet on campus and walk as a group to the Mount.

SEASON PREVIEW: UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers set for 2024-25 resurgence

As the UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers head into the 2024–25 season, they are driven and determined to reclaim their playoff spot and show that they are a force to be reckoned in Atlantic University Sport (AUS).

After missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015–16, the team is out to prove that last season was nothing more than a blip on the radar and that they are motivated to flip the script. 

“At our core, we’re a resilient bunch,” said head coach Sean Fisher. “I think you’ll see a very motivated team this year.”

Performance by winner of the 2024 Atlantic Young Artist Competition

Hosted by the UPEI Department of Music, the PEI Registered Music Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association present trombonist Jo Dashney, winner of the 2024 Atlantic Young Artist Competition, with pianist Stella Hui. The program includes 20th- and 21st-century works by David Biedenbender, Kevin Day, Alexei Lebedev, Anthony Plog, and Barbara York.

Pianist Peter Allen in concert

The UPEI Department of Music hosts pianist Peter Allen in concert on Thursday, October 24, at 7:30 pm.

Peter Allen is one of Canada’s most respected and talented musicians, known nationally as a concert pianist, composer, conductor, and teacher.  He will perform works by Haydn, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and some of his own bagatelles.
