Panthers add speedy back in Lauren Bull
UPEI’s women’s rugby program jumped on the scene in 2021 and turned itself into a destination that game-changing prospects are seriously considering joining.
Lauren Bull, of Okotoks, Alberta, is the first recruit to join the UPEI team since their memorable season this fall when they finished the year 3–3 for the first time since 2011.The team defeated the St. FX X-Women for the first time in 17 years and earned their first national ranking.
Island Lecture Series: Art and Climate Change Adaptation
In the first installment of the 2022 Island Lecture series, Ilse van Dijk will present the findings of the research she conducted as a research intern with Island Studies at UPEI. In her research project, Ilse aimed to identify possibilities for the integration of artistic processes into climate change adaptation policies on Prince Edward Island.

Possible COVID-19 exposure site on campus

I am writing to advise you that the PEI Chief Public Health Office (PEI CPHO) has informed us today of a possible COVID-19 exposure site on campus, specifically the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre on Sunday, December 5, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Troy Lajeunesse named Panther Subway Athlete of the Week
Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes a student-athlete for their achievements and dedication to their respective sport. The UPEI Panther Subway Athlete of the Week for November 29 to December 5 is Troy Lajeunesse.
Lajeunesse is a third-year arts major from Dokis, Ontario, and a forward on the UPEI men’s hockey team. He earned his second Athlete of the Week nod in as many weeks with another four-point week, scoring a goal in the Panthers’ 4–2 win over Moncton on December 1 and three assists in UPEI’s big 3–1 win over UNB on December 4.
Unique performance of Handel’s Messiah featured at City Cinema
Messiah/Complex, a unique film experience including the UPEI Chamber Singers, will be shown December 12 and 13 at City Cinema in Charlottetown. The 2020 film, which features a truly cross-Canada performance of Handel’s Messiah in Arabic, Dene, English, French, Inuktitut, and Southern Tutchone, is accompanied by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
