The IslandRISE initiative aims to create a group, centered at UPEI but with reach into the Island community, with a focus on building a STEM community that actively embraces scientists and engineers of all identities, and provides opportunities to learn from and with members of communities including BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, and people with disabilities and accessibility needs. 

The Advisory Selection Committee invites members of the campus community to an in-person vision presentation by Finalist Candidate A for the Vice-President, People and Culture (VPPC) position. (Finalist Candidate B will present on January 16.)

Since the search process began in Fall 2024, the committee has undertaken a comprehensive search. These excellent finalist candidates are investing their time and are willing to join the campus community for an in-person vision presentation as well as several small-group meetings (by invitation only).  

President Rodgers will hold the first in a series of Town Halls during the 2025 winter semester on January 15. The Town Hall will include an update on the development of our strategic plan: where we are in the process, what we have heard, and the themes that have emerged during various consultation sessions. Members of the community will be able to provide further input during the town hall or through the questionnaire found at https://www.upei.ca/president/strategic-planning
