Justin Shaw (BA'14) is a proud alumnus of the University of Prince Edward Island. Since graduating in 2014, he has gained professional experience in the performing arts, the non-profit sector, and the business world. He credits much of his eclectic portfolio to the skills acquired and honed during his time as an undergraduate at UPEI. Join this entertaining presentation as he aims to provide a compelling answer to the oft-grating question: What can you do with an arts degree?

Alysha Corrigan and Team Canada capture women’s rugby sevens silver
The University of Prince Edward Island congratulates alumna Alysha Corrigan, a former UPEI Women’s Rugby student-athlete, who captured a silver medal with Team Canada’s rugby sevens women's team at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 30.
Atlantic Veterinary College pilots first Indigenous Vet Camp
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is piloting an Indigenous vet camp from August 5–9, 2024, with the aim of expanding the College’s acclaimed Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp program to include a week-long camp dedicated to Indigenous students.

Join members of the GenAI Taskforce to learn why including information about where and when you expect students to use genAI can make things easier for you and your students. You’ll have time to start crafting a statement for your syllabus, and we’ll share some ideas for helping students document their use of genAI.

Music and Mind--Maritimes: Access to music education
This summer's student and faculty interdisciplinary music research forum will take place on Thursday, August 8, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Bill and Denise Andrew Hall, Room 142. Also, there will be a related evening concert in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall at 7:00 pm with a variety of performances.

In our last airport session, we discussed the basic procedures for entering Canada and the UPEI airport pickup service information. On August 8, we will talk more about the preparation and things you need to know upon your arrival in terms of the official documents, legal items, CBSA checkpoint, etc.
For those who have booked tickets or who are still deciding when the best time to arrive is, please join us on Zoom. We would be glad to provide advice to make sure your entry is as smooth as possible.
