Fundamentals of Sustainable Agriculture
Overview
The future of agriculture depends on professionals who can use technology, data, and sustainable practices to improve productivity while reducing environmental impacts.
Fundamentals of Sustainable Agriculture is a specialized online professional development course focused on the use of precision agriculture technologies to measure, understand, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agricultural activities.
Developed by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Associate Dean of the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, and administered by the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (OCEPD) at UPEI, this course provides participants with practical knowledge in one of the most important areas shaping the future of agriculture.
This enhanced course provides approximately 10 hours of flexible, self-paced online training designed for agriculture, sustainability, and climate-focused professionals in Canada and around the world.
Participants will explore how emerging technologies, data collection, and sustainable practices can help improve decision-making, increase efficiency, support climate-smart agriculture, and strengthen long-term sustainability across the global agriculture sector.
