Safe Work Spaces: Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training

Overview

Workplace expectations are changing. Organizations around the world are focused on creating environments where employees feel safe, respected, valued, and supported.

Building these workplaces requires more than policies. It requires awareness, education, and a shared commitment to preventing workplace harassment and violence.

Safe Work Spaces: Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training is an online professional development course that helps employees, supervisors, managers, and organizations recognize, prevent, and respond appropriately to harmful workplace behaviours.

Developed by the University of Prince Edward Island’s Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (OCEPD), this training provides practical tools and strategies to support safer, healthier, and more respectful workplaces.

Participants will learn how to recognize inappropriate behaviours, understand workplace responsibilities, communicate respectfully, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Designed for workplaces across all sectors and industries, this training supports private businesses, public sector organizations, non-profits, and organizations of all sizes in Canada and around the world.

The training reflects requirements introduced through Bill C-65 and supports organizations in meeting workplace harassment and violence prevention requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Originally developed with funding support from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Safe Work Spaces was created to provide accessible, high-quality workplace harassment and violence prevention training.
