A "space swap" has recently occurred between two departments in an effort to place student-focused service areas together. Integrated Communications will now be housed on the first floor of Don and Marion McDougall Hall, while the Office of Skills Development and Learning will be located in the Robertson Library, Room 230 next to the International Relations Office. Phone numbers for staff members of each department will remain the same. During the transition, we ask for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Nicole Phillips Integrated Communications nphillips@upei.ca Pat MacAulay Office of Skills Development and Learning phmacaulay@upei.ca
On Tuesday, September 2 first-year students will be taking part in an Orientation Week event called "Find your first semester classes," from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Staff and faculty are encouraged to help students in finding their way during this time, so that they will be prepared for their first day of classes! For a complete list of Orientation Week events, visit upei.ca/oweek.

Campus phone system: Bell Aliant network is being configured for 10-digit local dialing (area code followed by the 7-digit phone number) effective August 23, 2014. UPEI's 4-digit internal dialing will NOT be affected by this change. All external (off-campus) dialing will need to have the area code added when dialing, ex: 9 902 566 0424 ("9" for an outside line, then the area code, followed by the local number). All departments should ensure all pre-programmed local phone numbers have the area code included. Reminder: start to program your telecommunications equipment and features now including: phones (landline and cellular), speed dial lists, phone functions such as call forwarding, fax machines, modems and dial internet connections, devices for the hearing impaired, security or alarm systems, etc. Add the area code to your phone number appearing on stationery and business cards, etc. Be sure to include your area code when giving out your phone number. If you have any questions please contact Peggy Court at 0424 or email mcourt@upei.ca.
