Students, staff, faculty, and community members are invited to join UPEI's Experiential Education and Mawi'omi Indigenous Student Centre for an afternoon of gardening to establish this year's Chaplaincy Centre garden on Wednesday, June 28, from noon to 4:00 pm. Fill in this short form to sign up.

IT Systems and Services will be performing network maintenance on Sunday, June 25, at 5:30 pm. During this time, there will be intermittent connectivity on the campus network.

If you are off campus, many services such as Microsoft solutions (including email), Google, Zoom, upei.ca, Moodle, etc., that are in the cloud will not be impacted. 

The CleanTech information session planned for June 19 is cancelled and will be rescheduled.

The UPEI Office of Student Affairs (5th floor Dalton Hall) will remain open on Monday, June 19.

UPEI students, solo or in groups, and non-UPEI friends (as part of your group) are welcome! Don't worry about staying all day--you'll only need to be present for your matches. We're also rolling out the green carpet for UPEI faculty and staff! Whether you're signing up individually or in a group, we can't wait to see you flex your soccer prowess on the "UPEI Faculty & Staff" team. The Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network (Atlantic-IMN) has announced the launch of another round of its Promise Scholarship program funded by the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and Dalhousie University. 

The Atlantic-IMN Promise Scholarship program is for Indigenous high school students who will be graduating from high school in 2023 and who are applying to attend a health-related program at a post-secondary institution for the next school year (Fall 2023 or Winter 2024).

The value of the Promise Scholarship award is between $1,500 and $2,000: 

  • A portion of funds ($500) will be awarded to successful applicants when they officially accept an offer of admission to a health-related program for the following school year (2023/2024). 
  • The remaining funds will be awarded when the student officially begins their PSE program (in Fall 2023 or Winter 2024).

UPEI faculty and staff are invited to attend a Wellness Check and Coffee Break on Friday, June 16, anytime between 10:00 am and noon. The event will be held at McMillan Hall,  W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be provided. There will be a draw for two wellness baskets ($125 value each). 

 There will be a variety of booths, including

  • rapid neurofascial specialists demonstration and information
  • glucose and blood pressure checks 
  • colorectal and cervical cancer screening booth
  • diabetes and blood glucose information
  • meditation and mindful breathing demo
  • nutrition display
  • ADAPT booth
  • health and safety (summer safety, hand hygiene and your health, tick safety, and food safety).

The event is being coordinated by the UPEI Healthy Campus Committee.
