research-services/research- certifications/animal-care - Use the most current Adobe Reader to complete forms and only current forms will be accepted.
Both the signed hard copy and electronic protocol submission must be submitted by the deadline date.
- Submit one copy of original protocol with signature to AVC - North Annex, Biomedical Sciences Dept., Rm 2302
- Submit an electronic copy to animalcare@upei.ca
Those protocols received after the deadline will be reviewed the following month.
The Committee requires at least one month for processing applications.

The Healthy Campus Committee is pleased to offer $100 subsidy grants for current UPEI Employees (student staff not eligible for grant) for this academic year. We have a total of 16 grants left. The grant can be used towards the cost of either the Healthy U Club or Small Group Training Programs. To apply please fill out an application form and return to Angela Marchbank. a) Healthy U Club - An eight-week program involves two training sessions per week, one weigh-in and healthy eating meeting per week. Fee: $169 Sports Centre members and $209 for non-members. For those receiving the grant the cost will be $69 or $109 plus hst.
Weekly weigh in, meal plan, log book and healthy eating discussion/presentation with Simply For Life consultant: Mondays 5:00 pm – 5:45 pm (Start Date: September 28)
Training sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00 pm – 5:45 pm
Trainer: Lyndsey Paynter (Start Date: September 29)
b) Small Group Training – An eight-week, two times per week small group of seven working with a certified personal trainer. Fee: $135 + taxes per person. Cost for those receiving the grant will be $35 plus hst.
- Group 3: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:05 pm – 12:50 pm. Trainer: Lyndsey Paynter (Start Date: September 29)
- Group 4: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:45 pm – 5:30 pm. Trainer: Kris Lutwick (Start Date: September 29)
The Department of Biology will host two presentations by Dr. P. Joel Ross, The Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto, on September 14& 15, 2015. Dr. Ross is a candidate for a Tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Biology and will present the following talks:

Please be advised that the University of Prince Edward Island Student Health Centre, located in the Student Affairs office in the WA Murphy Student Centre, will be opening this year on October 19.
Until October 19, Dr David Reid will be seeing students, by appointment, at his clinic in Sherwood, 15 Brackley Point Road, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please see this link for a map of the exact location. When the Health Centre opens on campus, Dr Reid will continue to see students Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
