Flag Raising for International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Dr. Greg Keefe, UPEI’s interim president and vice-chancellor, and fourth-year political science student Antwaun Rolle invite members of the campus community to the first annual raising of the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at UPEI in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. The flag raising will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm (noon) at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building.

The UPEI Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to an Eastern PEI Holiday Social at the UPEI Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation (St. Peter's Bay Campus) on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 6:00 pm.

The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce is conveniently located on the second floor of the Confederation Court Mall, in the corner near the bubble tea shop. The door is right next to the elevators.

Afternoon of Service with the Mount: Decorate gingerbread houses!

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at The Mount! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this event is open to everyone who loves getting their hands sticky with icing and colourful candies.

The Mount is a resident-care facility where residents live and are supported in their daily lives. Many of the residents are seniors. As part of living at the Mount, residents can participate in a variety of fun events and activities, such as this one where they will design and decorate gingerbread masterpieces.

Slide design workshop

This is a 45-minute drop-in session where we will look at some basic slide design principles and then spend time redesigning one of your own slide decks.  

What to bring: A set of slides and a device to work on

Schedule:  

  • 10-minute presentation on slide design 

  • 30 minutes to work individually on your own slides; the host is present for questions 

  • 5 minutes to reflect on how it went and ask more questions 

UPEI Panthers This Week (November 27–December 3)

The UPEI Men’s Hockey and the UPEI Track and Field teams are on the road during the week of November 27–December 3.

Wednesday, November 29
AWAY:

7:00 pm: UPEI Men’s Hockey (6-10) takes on the Saint Mary’s Huskies (8-8) in Halifax. The Panthers look for their first win against the Huskies this season.

Saturday, December 2
AT HOME:

7:00 pm: UPEI Men’s Hockey plays the Acadia Axemen in the MacLauchlan Arena. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the UPEI Campus Food Bank.
