UPEI hosts Charlottetown launch of "Jimmie MacAulay: The Man Who Got Things Done"
UPEI is pleased to host the Charlottetown launch of the book, Jimmie MacAulay: The Man Who Got Things Done, on Sunday, November 3, from 2:00–4:00 pm at Alumni Hall, 618 University Avenue. Written by John Cameron and Lou Daley, former teachers at Morell Regional High School where Jim was principal for 24 years, the book covers the life of someone committed to enhancing the Island’s education system and growing community, specifically his community of St. Peter’s Bay. Indeed, UPEI recognized Jim’s contributions by awarding him an honorary degree in 2014.
SEASON PREVIEW: UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers primed for breakout season in 2024–25
If the preseason is any indication, then UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers fans have plenty to be excited about in 2024–25.
Posting an impressive 7-1 record in exhibition play, the Panthers took down top-tier opponents, including perennial contenders like the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men and reigning U SPORTS champions, Laval Rouge et Or. With momentum on their side and a roster packed with potential, the Panthers are ready to make a statement this season.
Harry Baglole Memorial Public Symposium in Island Studies
The Institute of Island Studies, UPEI Faculty of Science (Foods and Nutrition program in Applied Human Sciences), the Campus Food Bank, and the UPEI Student Union invites our campus community and members of the public to attend the 2024 Harry Baglole Memorial Public Symposium in Island Studies: “Homelessness and Food Insecurity on Canada’s Food Island.” This symposium is a collaborative initiative with the Native Council of PEI, Meals on Wheels, the John Howard Society of PEI, the Adventure Group, and the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry.

The organizers of the Institute of Island Studies' 2024 Harry Baglole Memorial Public Symposium in Island Studies invite the UPEI campus community and members of the public to stop by the Schurman Market Square between 4 pm and 6 pm on November 7, 2024, to learn more about a few not-for-profit organizations doing work related to the themes of homelessness and food insecurity that we are talking about later that evening in the Alex H. MacKinnon Auditorium.

Graduate students are invited to join Dr. Wendy Rodgers (President and Vice-Chancellor) and Dr. Suzanne Kresta (Dean, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering), co-chairs of the University Strategic Plan Steering Committee, to discuss UPEI’s strategic direction. The forward-thinking consultations are an opportunity for learn more about the priorities and goals of our graduate students as the University develops its roadmap for the future.
