What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

I came to UPEI mainly to pursue my post-secondary education. I'm from Ghana which is situated in the Western part of the African continent. Travelling to Canada was motivated by the opportunities I had heard other immigrants testify about Canada. Gifts from the Heart Inc. is a non-profit organization that helps low-income islanders and those going through tough times by providing them food, clothing, toys, furniture, and personal hygiene products for FREE. They are all about spreading love and kindness to those who need it most.

2024 Summer Job and Career Fair

We are thrilled to return to an in-person Summer Job and Career Fair for 2024. The fair provides an opportunity for students and employers to meet face-to-face and for students to learn about summer jobs and full-time opportunities.
 
Hosted by UPEI Experiential Education, the fair welcomes a wide variety of employers from various industries who are actively hiring students and recent graduates at the time of the fair.   

Gina' Matimg: A Time For Learning - Film Screening

Following her award-winning film Ice Walk, Abegweit's Eliza Knockwood is back with another cinematic experience. In her docuseries Gina' matimg: A Time For Learning viewers will follow four youths from Epekwitk who are tasked with seeking knowledge that will assist them in a 24-hour survival challenge. What will the Elders and allies teach them, and will it be enough to survive the challenge? Who will make it to the end?

All are welcome, and light refreshments are provided.

We have great news! The English Corner is for you! We provide language support and practice for any EAL student at UPEI. No appointment isneeded; just drop in with your questions. We’re in the Robertson LIbrary, Room 213, from 9 am to 12 pm on Thursdays. 

Resume Writing Workshop

Are you unsure of how to write an effective resume? Maybe you've been applying for jobs but not hearing back from employers? Join Experiential Education staff for a one-hour workshop with advice and tips on how to best communicate your skills and experience to an employer. 

This workshop will take place in a computer lab, so students can start or update an electronic copy of their resume during the workshop.

International Women's Day

March 8 is International Women's Day. It’s a global day to recognize and celebrate women’s and girls’ social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It’s also a time to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done.

Join us on March 8, 2024, for International Women’s Day under the theme Invest in women: Accelerate progress, and take a stand with us using the hashtag #InvestInWomen.
